This is the level design section of my portfolio. Below you will find links to the different levels I’ve designed in various different game engines. I currently am good with the Unity 3D engine and the Unreal Development Kit, included in each description are screenshots of the game at different points in the level.
Platformer (Unity 3D)
This game built in the Unity 3D Engine (Version 3.4) is a simple platformer that has the player using one of three possible paths (although all are traversable). This game was primarily the result of a random idea in combination with what I had learned from my experiments with the engine itself. Most of the art came from the Forest Pack and Proto Pack from Frogames.net and scripting was obtained from the Unity3d 2d tutorial, but I did the entirety of the level design and the placement of scripts within the level itself.
First Person Shooter (UDK)
This multi-player level designed in the Unreal Development Kit was based on one of my teacher’s ideas for an arena for the idiots once he ruled the world (sounds weird but I thought it was a good idea for this kind of work.) The design was a recreation of an older prototype level that I developed, and took the general concept of the idea and worked it into a current day pseudo-Roman coliseum with minimal weaponry. The underground area was for the players who ignored the obvious and tried something different, but they could still get lost for a bit with all the multiple paths that lead to nowhere.
